The client required an open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area overlooking the rear garden. This entailed removing the exiting block walls between the dining room, kitchen and utility room in the existing house. Great news this week, after working through a challenging planning process the project to extend and refurbish the Atlas Women’s centre in Lisburn will finally commence on site early in the new year. Derryleckagh Contracts Ltd have been selected as the main contractor to provide a roof top extension for additional training facilities and provide a much need outdoor play area for the existing crèche. Restoration work to the listed Mount Merrion church is nearing an end with the final repairs to the Bell Tower completed this week, which is being overseen by Tate Stevenson Architects in this unique church conservation project. Tate Stevenson Architects are due to start the restoration and refurbishment of the listed Mount Merrion Parish Church in Belfast shortly. The church was designed by Dennis O'Donoghue Hanna and built and consecrated in March 1953. Work originally started in April 1955. We will post up reports on how the project is progressing.
